Our step-tracking algorithm relies on natural arm-swing motion while the watch is worn on your wrist. Holding the watch in your hand restricts this natural swing, preventing accurate tracking. For precise step counts, make sure to wear the watch securely on your wrist.

To conserve battery, the step display enters an automatic sleep mode after about 2 minutes of complete inactivity. As soon as you move or pick up the watch, the motion sensor instantly wakes up the display to show your current count. Rest assured, your step history remains fully saved while the screen is asleep.

To prevent false counts caused by random arm movements like typing, driving, or reaching for items, Timebot requires 15 continuous steps before initiating active tracking. Once you reach 15 continuous steps, the algorithm confirms walking motion and automatically adds those first 15 steps to your total - so no real steps are ever lost!
